We will be celebrating Bragg's 11th birthday.  I can't believe he is turning 11. It is named after the Archangel Michael. It is the official start of fall. It marked the end of fishing season and start of hunting season. It marked the end of harvest season and a local fair was held to partake in the food from the harvest. It also marked the beginning of school for children. A purple daisy, called an &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.bestgarden.net/Photo_Album/Pages/Aster_novi-belgii.htm"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:lucida grande;"&gt;aster daisy &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:lucida grande;"&gt;is the flower for this day. Eating goose on this day is a tradition. Also, eating blackberries is a tradition because after this day there were said to be no good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="color:#990000;"&gt;Activity&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;I will use a projector to show and read the book Michaelmas Day to the class. We will then discuss the story.
